Yves Saint Laurent

The S/S 2009 Manifesto campaign featuring Claudia Schiffer will be uploaded and distributed on charming heart shaped USB keys on the streets of Paris, New York, London, Milan, Tokyo and Hong Kong on the 14th of February. Over half a million copies of the twenty page Manifesto, accompanied by behind the scenes footage, will be distributed in a cotton tote bag to the first 2,000 passers by in each city.

The Manifesto USB and tote will be distributed in London from 11am on the 14th February at Bond Street, Knightsbridge, High Street Kensington and Covent Garden. For those of us who don't live in those cities, the Manifesto campaign will also debut exclusively on ysl.com the same day.

Kindle II

The Amazon Kindle is an e-book reader (an electronic system for reading e-books) launched in the US by the prominent online bookseller Amazon.com in November 2007. Now, 2 years later Amazon has done everything they could to make it better.

* Simple to use: no computer, no cables, no syncing
* Wireless connectivity enables you to shop the Kindle Store directly from your Kindle
* Buy a book and it is auto-delivered wirelessly in less than one minute
* More than 230,000 books available, including more than 105 of 112 current New York Times® Best Sellers
* Lighter and thinner than a typical paperback; weighs only 10.3 ounces
* Holds over 200 titles
* Long battery life, fully recharges in 2 hours
* No monthly wireless bills, service plans, or commitments—simply click, buy, and read
* Email your Word documents and pictures (.JPG, .GIF, .BMP, .PNG) to Kindle for on-the-go viewing

Come Up To My Room

Each February the Gladstone Hotel produces Come Up To My Room- an alternative design show focusing on the diverse practices that work outside the norms of traditional design.

This years show ran from February 5 - 8, 2009. Since its inaugural year in 2004, Come Up To My Room continues to generate excitement in the Canadian design community. The event took over the entire second floor of the historic 119 year old building. Visitors were greeted with public space projects in the hotel's lobby, stairwell and 2nd floor reception while on their way to the room installations in 12+ exhibition rooms.

Alexander McQueen + Targét = Budget-Friendly High Fashion

In late 2008, Targét decided they would benefit from a collection called Designer Collaborations. First up: Alexander McQueen.

For S/S 2009, McQ Alexander McQueen has teamed up with Targét stores across America to make his high fashion label somewhat affordable for the average [broke] fashionista. With a massive A-list following, Alexander McQueen has always had street edge. The influential British designer line McQ has been described as "youthful and extravagant, but always signature McQueen".

The collection is scheduled to release in March 2009.
